New and rather unique Air Ele spike build
Name: Ahhh... cant escape the Lightning, NO!!!!!!!!
Profession: Elementalist/x
Type: mainly PvP, can also work in PvE
Category: Unique Air Spiker
Attributes:
16 Air Magic
10-12 Energy storage
the rest Earth Magic(just make sure Iron Mist lasts long enough)
Skill Set:
Lightning Orb
Lightning Strike
Enervating Charge
Blinding Flash
Iron Mist
Gust{Elite}
Air Attunement
Glyph of Lesser Energy
works best in an entire Air Ele spike team, if not than the Wars/Rangers should have a shocking weapon in their weapon sets(not their primary weapon obviously)
the Orb/Strike/Charge are pretty basic spike skills. Blinding Flash for Wars/Rangers obviously... Air Attunement and GoLE will hopefuly be enough for e-management as the elite is none e-management. maybe making the second profession Mesmer and switching either or both these skills for some inspiration skills might be better, but than we'd be spreading our attributes a bit much...
now the *unique* part of the build, Iron Mist and Gust. Iron Mist is by far the best snare skill lmho, slows movement by 90% for 5-15 seconds, the only downside is that the target is immune to all but Air damage, which isnt a problem for an Air Ele but is for the other characters, which is why the Wars/Rangers carry a shocking weapon with them.
as for Gust, it is another spike skill that can also be used as a cheap exhaustion free gale that needs a water/earth hex on the target to work, or in our case Iron Mist or if you have another Ele on your team(prefferably Hydromancer) some other hex.
I havent tested this build yet, infact I dont even have factions to be able to use Gust but in theory it should work pretty well...
feedback and comments are always welcome

It is an ok build, but I don't think you can do enough with that. All you need is one Monk to make it useless. One of the better spiker builds I have seen was.
E/N
16 Air Magic
11 Energy storage
10 Earth Magic
1. Lightning strike
2. Lightning Orb
3. Mind Shock
4. Obsidian Flame
5. Iron Mist
6. Strip Enchantment
7. Air Attunement
8. Res Sig
First run you Hit Ob Flame, Mind shock, and Lightning strike. Next run you use Lightning Orb, Mind shock, and lightning strike. Iron Mist is an anti-warrior.
You always strip before a spike if enchantments are present.

Mind Shock does more damage than Gash, but causes exhaustion and only 1 second knockdown. it's also more expensive and takes twice as long to recharge.
as for obsidian flame, I dont see a need for it in a lightning build... just another exhaustion maker...
and the difference in damage between both builds isnt a lot, just Mind Shock that does a bit more than Gust and Obsidian Flame with only 10 in Earth Magic does only a bit more than Enervating Charge
my build is basically exhaustion free, mainly because e-management is a bit of a concern without an e-management elite...
as for enchantment stripping, there are Mesmers and Necros for that, you dont have to do it all in 1 character...
and I have Blinding Flash as a utility skill...
and infact Iron Mist isnt only anti Warrior but also anti Kiting...

Gaze of Contempt if you have Factions.
And don't avoid Exhaustion like the plague.
It's not really spike-y. More like inferior DPS.

Is gust really needed? i mean, if you take elemental attunement, then you would have more than enough energy.. And its not like a 90% slowed enemy will run away from you... Other than that, then it looks pretty good... Think ill try it =O

Not a gust fan here, I make do with Gale - as long as you only use it when the opponent is running away (happens a fair amount in FvF) you shouldn't be impacted too much from exhaustion - I have both Gale and Ether Prodigy in my air spike build, and no problems there.

the only reason for choosing gust here is because I dislike the fact that almost all ele builds have energy management elite, which pretty much makes all the other elites pointless. I tried to use 1 of those "pointless" elites and put it to good use.
the usage of gust is either as another spike skill or when iron mist is about to end or if there is someone with water snares on your team.
the reason I ran from exhaustion is to make it less vulnerable to e-drain and to generally to last longer.
and what made you say that "It's not really spike-y. More like inferior DPS."?
what do you claim is missing here to make it a spike?
